| Lake Lefferts, Matawan, NJ |
Lake Lefferts is near the border of Old Bridge, NJ(Middlesex county)and Matawan, NJ(Monmouth county). I 've passed through Lake Lefferts
numerous times, enjoyed it's scenes spring, summer, fall and winter, but I never took the time to look up it's name on the map. It is surrounded by
residences and has a pavillion near the water and recently I found a small parking lot adjacent to it.
Lake Lefferts crosses three county highways. It has a boat launch, boat and canoe rental, and a large catering restaurant. Since 1924, Lake
Lefferts has been designated for recreational use. Every Independence day, residents enjoyed fireworks in the park. 2008 is no exception, while
other towns are cutting down, Matawan continued. I really enjoyed this half-an-hour firework show.
The waterlily in Lake Lefferts is a mixture of white and pink. The latter is rarely seen in wild.

A great egret is successfully feeding.
